My name is Crystal Owens. I was born and raised right down the road in Eufaula, Alabama. I am a graduate from Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama, where I received my Associates Degree and also played three years of fast pitch softball. I am also a graduate from Troy University where I accepted my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
I have a handsome and loving husband that the students will know as "Mr. Jared." I also have two amazing stepsons who are growing up terribly too fast, Evan and Charlie.
In our classroom, we will be a family. I was brought up in a loving home with two supportive parents and two sisters that I love more than anything. As I got older, I began to play softball where I learned that I was a part of another family, which were my teammates. Being a part of a team and working with others is exactly what my teaching philosophy will be in the classroom with the students. We will agree to get along and treat each other as we would want to be treated.
This is my second year teaching at Meadowlane Elementary School. Below is a picture of me and a promise that I made when I walked into our classroom for the very first time.

Dear Students,
As I walked into our classroom for the first time today, I thought of you. I thought of all of the memories that we will make behind that door. With that said, I want to make you a promise. I promise to be the best teacher that I can be. I promise to love you and take care of you. I know we may have difficult days, but that is why I am making this promise right now. This is to remind myself of the feeling I felt as I walked into this room today. I promise to not lose that passion.

Family is everything.
